Default Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S Drag Radial

Has anyone tried these? If so, what are your thoughts?

I found some information, but there are not too many reviews out there. I think these drag radials just came out toward the end of last year.

Here is a link to the tire on the MT website.

I think this will phase out the Radial II, but both the Radial II's and the SS are still available on the MT website. My research shows the SS is basically the DOT MT ET drag radial with more channeling/grooves for better wet condition handling.

Let us know they hook!

I also have a set in 18's on order, they are a very good tire from what I hear. A lot of people run them.

I bet these tires will hook very well, but I also wonder if it will feel a bit loose a higher speeds. I heard the MT ET Street II's would dance/move around some at high speeds.

depends on the pressure. being radials they should be pretty stable, way better than bias plys.....but they aren't a road course tire and should not be treated as such.

I am using the MT-3785R 305/35/18's on my Z06 and they do hook well. I was surprised that they do feel a little loose on the top end at about 130 mph on 26 psi. I keep the pressure up to avoid the TPMS from sending a CEL and possible reduced power mode. I have noticed the active handling symbol flash on the PDR playback screen occasionally while going through the traps. It is barely noticeable but it is there. The 60 fts are not that much different than the stock non Z07 tires. I get mid 1.6's on the MT's and hi 1.6's to 1.70 on the stock tires at same pressure. The stock tires do mph better for some reason.

I have the exact same tire. 20-21 psi seems to be what mine likes to launch at the track. Low 1.6's launching from 800-900 rpm. I have noticed a little "sway" when she gets to 130. Nothing too crazy but you want to be ready for it

Anybody have any initial reviews/thoughts on the MT ET Street S/S drag radials yet? I know several people mentioned having ordered these a couple weeks ago, so I was wondering if anyone has yet to try them out.

I received my MT ET Street S/S drag radials today. I understand it is a drag radial, but the tread depth is pretty swallow for a new tire, and the wear bars on the tires are very close to the top of the tread. I am not sure why they couldn't make the tread a bit deeper. Maybe this is a way for them to sell more tires. I understand you can probably run these past the wear bars, but I still wish the tread was deeper (the new tires already look half worn out).

Yes they do, mine is loose, moves around and it is not nice at the strip. It almost seems like your going to lose it. I am running them at 28 lbs. the car is stock (no mods).

Do you have the Mickey Thompson ET Street II's or the ET Street S/S? Also, what size are you running?

I have the II's, they seemed to function fine on the 2009 Z51 I had before this 15 ZF1. I don't understand why on this C7 it does not seem safe at the big end. My 09 C6 was not as quick but the MPH was only 1-2 mph slower in the 1/4.

Does the car really reduce power if the tire pressure is too low?

I just installed MT ET Street SS 285/40R18's on 18X10 rims. I've only done one launch on a warm, deserted back road but I'm very encouraged--they dead-hooked for me at 32 psi.

I am running 265X40X18, use the same tire on the 09 Z51.

I ran them on my C6 and they did hook well and had no problems with 1-2 or 2-3 shifts. But, at top end they got squirrelly or at least felt like they had water inside them. Just my impression.
