Lose 64lbs rotating mass? = WEAPON-X now carries ESE Carbon Wheels!!!
In staying true to form as your #1 C7 wheel dealer, I've added (and ordered a set LOL) ESE Carbon Wheels to my lineup. ESE has hit the market as the first "affordable" set of true carbon wheels with a titanium hub. Affordable is of course a relative term, but their only competition charges twice as much
$7999 for any size, next delivery date is by May 13th if you hurry!
To order call or order online:
http://weaponx-c7.myshopify.com/prod...-under-13-5lbs
ESE Carbon Wheel weights:
18x6”: 9.18 lbs (for you drag racers)
18x9”: 11.74 lbs
18x11”: 12.24 lbs
18x13”: 13.45 lbs
19x11”: 12.79 lbs
19x13”: 13.99 lbs
vs. Z51 Wheels
Front wheel – 19x8.5 Listed weight of 24 lbs.
Rear wheel – 20x10 Listed weight of 28 lbs.
Total 104lbs vs. ESE 18x9 and 18x11 48 lbs = 56lbs of reduced rotational mass!!!!
Add the Hoosier R7 tires in a 315/345 vs the MP SS ZPs and that is another 16 lbs less for a total of 64 lbs!

CASE STUDY on a competitor:
You are losing a whopping 64lbs rotating mass when going from the OEM Z51 wheels and tires to the ESE Carbon wheels and Hoosier R7s. The Mustang GT350 has a carbon fiber wheel option and they did a back to back test vs. the aluminum standard wheels which were only a 56lb difference and the results were pretty astonishing.
Now granted a lot of bench racing can go on here, GT350R is a couple hundred pounds lighter than a C7 and has 50hp more. At the end of the day, these light weight wheels appear to be worth their weight in gold!

I used to run Carbon Fiber wheels on my race bike they defiantly work, less rotating mass = free HP. Back then I thought I was crazy paying $3000 for two wheels, but it cost to have the best. I would be all over these wheels if they were a little cheaper.

If you're buying carbon wheels, "looks" are not your first priority LOL
I did get a Z06 order on these already though, so we'll have some pics and data of performance by the end of May!

If you're paying 8K for wheels, looks are damn sure something you better be getting.

On the contrary, most racers who take it seriously run with raw inners and no center caps on race wheels... looks are last on their list of importance because they want to win.
Personally, I like the looks of these.

^^^ Do the wheels have any certifications. Is there any data to back up the structural integrity of the product.

I'm totally in to the performance, but the looks are decidely 1990s.
They would be very easy to clean however, which is kind of a big deal when you're tracking a car a lot.

"To give you a little background about carbon fiber manufacturing, we can only explain how our patented manufacturing process is superior to Carbon Revolution’s. Our patented Next Generation Autoclave Process (NGAP) ensures the strongest mechanical properties in any of our carbon fiber composites, including our wheels. Because we are curing our components in our industrial sized autoclave, before hardening, they are being subjected to high pressures compressing the carbon fiber and resin on a molecular level, eliminating imperfections normally seen in processes that don’t use an autoclave. NGAP carbon fiber composites result in stronger mechanical properties or better yet, superior products.
Why is it a superior product? Carbon Revolution is not curing their wheels in an autoclave. I’m sure their wheels are passing OEM tests as carbon fiber composite wheels should be stronger than aluminum wheels. But when comparing CF composite wheels to CF composite wheels, it is proven that autoclave cured products have superior strength, stiffness, durability and are even lighter in weight.
As per SAE and TUV certification, there is no such certification for carbon fiber wheels, YET. Yes, our wheels have passed all of the SAE tests including the numerous cornering tests. Our head engineer is on the board of SAE (Society of American Engineers) assisting with writing the strictest of rules for a future SAE carbon fiber composite wheel certification. As of right now though, we can only put the wheels through the standard alloy wheel tests that are available."

Ummmm, 7 or 8 spoke = kinda tired brah....5 arm = better across the board....common on Audis....not on Corvettes....uniquely original...

Yes I can do them and would love to do so. All sizes are the same price oddly so while 18s make these more, 20/21 setup is in line with a lot of higher end wheels. Let me know if you want to get an order in. I can do $2k down and spread it out over the next 12 weeks till they come in

My apologies for not being aware you were an engine builder.
