Its something around 2000rpm to 2400rpm give or take. I really want to get one of the eliminators for mine. Had it tuned out of my WS6 and really enjoy rowing through all of the gears not just having the computer shunt me into 4th. I don't want to have to rev my engine up just to avoid that. It annoys the hell out of me that when i want to just putt around and not 'drive fast' that I can't shift how I want
I have an eliminator that I put together myself, but have delayed installing it since CAGS is so much less intrusive than on my C5. There are multiple parameters but one is the speed has to be under about 20 mph, and even when I am driving as slow as I can imagine, I never shift out of 1st gear slower that that.
I have a question. When does the car lock you out of shifting into 2nd and directly to 4th?
I drove 300 miles home and it never locked me out of 2nd and made me go right to 4th.
It is only in effect from 15 mph to 19 mph if you are being easy on the throttle. Thus it only interferes if you are driving in heavy traffic or just putt putting around looking for an address. Basically, it follows the same algorithm they used on the C5 and C6 with the speeds being the same and amount of throttle opening required to deactivate being the same.
It is simple and free to avoid it. Instead of shifting to second between 15 and 19 shift at 14 or 20. If you are even a little bit aggressive with the throttle it will not activate between 15 and 19 either.
If it is active during Sport or Track modes it really doesn't matter since who is loafing around when in those modes.
People who are bothered by it are usually driving in heavy bumper to bumper traffic and become inattentive to what gear they are in and when they should shift. With a little self discipline spent over a 20 minutes or so a person can train themselves to avoid it all of the time. Spend the $20 on ice cream for your family instead.

I think you hit the nail on the head Bill, thanks. If you shift from 1st to 2nd under 15mph CAGS won't activate. If you are using more than 21% of throttle in 1st CAGS won't activate. If you accelerate to over 19mph in 1st CAGS won't activate. My original question was pondering whether CAGS was operational in ALL driving modes. I thought it might possibly be deactivated in Sport and Track modes, but as NTMD8R said, apparently it is active in ALL modes. The C7 will easily start off in 2nd gear on level ground, and that is another way to eliminate the CAGS skip shift.
