Nanopod via USB Question

Nanopod via USB Question
Any ideas?
I connect my 7th generation Nanopod via USB, and intermittently, I'll get back in the car and the device is not recognized.
Tried turning it's Bluetooth off, and different USB cables, and all three recepticles.
I-phone off, and it's blue tooth off.
So every fifth or sixth time I get in the car, I must disconnect the Nano, get a song started, and plug it back in.
