Default First Dyno session (Kooks Headers)

This was the first time I have had the car on a Dyno, sorry no before run. My only upgrade is the Kooks headers with green cats (purchased from MarylandSpeed). No tuning has been done and no codes are thrown. I am very happy with the performance and the sound is amazing.

2015 A8 10K miles. Dyno Dynamics dyno.

Always hard to guess from Dyno to Dyno, but impressive results!

It sounds great! 1 7/8" right? not the 2" - Or are you planning on shoving more air in there?

Thanks!

I went with the 1 7/8" I probably will not be doing much more upgrading. I was mostly looking for a better sound. I did opt for the ceramic coating. They work great with the NPP exhaust.

I agree, LT's with NPP sounds outstanding! Without tuning, you are going to start throwing a check engine light. It will be code P2097. Maybe not on your dyno run, but won't take long. Disconnect the negative battery cable and it will clear, for a little while. Best bet is to find a good tuner, get the extra HP out of a tune and nix the CEL...

Hello,

I have put over 1000 miles on the car since the header install and have not had any issues / CEL. I want to avoid getting a tune to retain the power train warranty.

I made this post to try and spread some good information about the Kooks headers with the "Green" catalytic converters. They are a good alternative to the ARH mids for people looking to improve sound/performance without getting a tune.

Didn't realize they had a solution that didn't require tuning

We are unable to do hraders, cats, tunes and most mods in California plus don't want to void the powertrain warranty or I would like to do the same.

Hi, can we get an update? Are you still managing without a CEL?

I am happy to report that I have had no problems of any kind.
I am still impressed with the sound quality.

I fired the car up this morning in Sport while my neighbor was getting into his truck. He stopped me as I was leaving to tell me he almost spilled his coffee when my car started.

However when cruising in tour it sounds virtually stock.
Greatest mod ever!

Thank you for the update...I had ordered this same setup last weekend and was hoping that you were still seeing good results!! Do you have any more video to share of it other than the dyno pull?

Thanks!!
