I went to the drag strip with drag radials, and during hard launches the car cuts power just after leaving the starting line. I had my car (2014 M7-Z51-non msrc) in track mode with the TC and Stabilitrak turned off.
Anyone else experienced this? Does this relate to torque mgmt? Would a tune fix this?

It could be the tq mgmt. but this shouldn't be going on with the car. I have a auto with no problems with it, But also could be pulling big timing from the car. What gas are you running in here. If this s the case not good you don't want to end up with a blown up motor...Robert

You won't experience near the issues with torque mgmt. because you have the automatic. Due to being able to leave at high rpms with the manual tranny, the torque mgmt. is much more significant in the manual C7s
What would be the science/thought process behind the car cutting power during hard launches as it relates to the oil starve feature/check box? I have a dry sump oil system (Z51-option), so the oil should be pressurized. Do you think the oil may be sloshing around or pushing to the back of the engine during hard launches, thus causing the engine oil starve feature to cut power to the car as a safety mechanism? Any advice is appreciated.

There is nothing to measure it, it is predicted based on driving conditions. It can "activate" even if there is no physical issue....there are quite a few things in the tune that are predictive like this.
for me this was the engine oil starve protect check box.
What exactly was your corvette doing prior to you addressing the issue via the engine oil starve protect check box? Does your car have a dry sump oil system (i.e. Z51) or wet sump? Thanks

Good information, and thanks. That sounds exactly like what my C7 is doing. I didn't really noticed the issue until I put drag radials on the car, which allowed me to leave the starting line more aggressively.
How did you resolve the issue/? Did you check or uncheck the box during tuning, and what exactly does checking/unchecking the box change within the car/tune?

he said he resolved it by disabling the oil starve torque management. i disable it in all of my tunes as standard procedure and I would think other tuners do also.
disabling it simply prevents the ECM from closing the throttle or pulling the spark lead when the criteria is met for the oil starve function to activate.

Check to see if your tires are rubbing after you launch. I lowered my car and had the same experience, and thought it was power loss. I found my tires where rubbing only after hard launches, because the car would squat down on the tires, and the tires might possibly grew during the launch. I raised the car back to original height and that solve the issue I had.
