So my 14 stingray is having its first issue in its 12000 mile life span. This morning the fuel gauge began to read zero. I have to check the code later when I can get away from work for a min or two.
I have done some reading and t sounds like some people have cleared this up by throwing Techron at it. What are your thoughts?
If a bottle of Techron does clean it up then I'll guess you'll know that deposits on the fuel sending unit were to blame. I'd be more inclined to take it to the dealer while it's acting up. Assuming you're still under warranty, I'd let them replace the sender now because my understanding is that it's in the fuel tank and requires a lot of disassembly to get to. I'd rather not have to pay for that.
I think taking it in is good advice. I did try flashing back to stock tune and sure enough code is gone and the gauge is working. I drove it and gave it the full Techron treatment. I have now tried using my intune2 and tuned it again. If it ticks up again...the dealer will be my next stop.
Does anyone know if the C7 use the same fuel snedors/sensors as the C6 did? With the C6 they would go bad and cause the gauge to read inaccurately and even though they were like a $50 dollar part it would cost a $1000 or more to fix cuz of labor. I though everything was new in the C7 from the C6?
I have run three bottles of techron through my 2014 C7. Gas guage still screwed up. Always reads 1/8 lower than it actually is and time it goes to 0 whan I know I have pleanty gas.
