Default C7 stock dyno numbers

I just dynoed my stock C7 (well, I do have window tint and a front splitter so that probably adds a good 4 horsepower) on a mustang dyno. For those of you how are unfamiliar, mustang dynos put it under load by using some algorithm with all kinds of factors in it. Not sure on the math, but the bottom line is that mustang dyno numbers are always lower than dynojet by a decent amount. I put down 451hp and 512ft-lb torque. Has anyone else dynoed their C7 and if so, have you seen numbers like this?? The guys at the shop were predicting 375hp based on factory rating and how the mustang dyno works, to put it in perspective.

The machine has to be off no way that a stock motor will put down those # on a mustang dyno.

Ionno what to say, that's what it was. My actual mustang, in comparison (2013 gt) that has mods put down 371hp 329 ft-lb on the exact same machine and that's about right. Was really looking to see if anyone else had done it, not so much looking for random nay sayers.

They dyno low 400s. I've seen anywhere from 395-435 with the average being around 415ish. Highly unlikely that you're making those numbers, if the tq was similar to your hp I'd say it may just be a little off but having over 500 rwtq is WAY off.

Huh. Well maybe I'll have to find another dyno and if theirs was that far off, get my money back. I guess I'll update when I get more info. Could be a freak car though and the numbers are accurate.

Go make a 40-100 mph pull with the performance timer and tell us what you get. Stock cars seem to run low 6's on a good day with good DA's. Bolt on cars in the 5's. If you have the freak of all LT1's with 500 rwtq, you would be in the mid 5's. LT1 E85 has a long post about his bolt on's, E85, and many many 40-100 mph pulls... My guess is you will be dissappointed like I was in the beginning and mid 6's...

Your car an auto or M7?

It's a manual. I didn't know that was a thing you could test. I'll give them a shout and see if they do it and if so, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info!

It is built into your car, you do this on the open road (be careful and make sure you have room to pull 100 mph) and it records the time on your dash. Get out the owners manual and be ready for some fun. Another good test is 0-60. Book says the LT1 is good for 3.7 seconds, but real world is hard to get enough traction and see anything under 4.0.

Oh no crap?? I knew the 0-60 jaunt (best I've pulled is a 3.9) but didn't know there was a 40-100

They ran it 3 times with those settings. ran it a 4th time and got 478hp, but he said "Oh crap, the weight went back to the default weight of 3500 so this one won't count". The setting they put it on there for was 3800 or 3850lbs. Not sure if that tells anyone anything or not

Check out Performance solutions on Rivers. I've not been there nor used them but that's the only other place I know of that has a dyno.

That would be one amazingly stout C7....... Guess its possible, best factory freak out there. Have you run it at the drag strip? My guess is some of the settings were off.

For comparison sake here's my M7 dynojet numbers - baseline and post ARH Mids / X-pipe with no tune runs.

Just because X car made X power on a certain day, doesnt mean that today the dyno can be giving false numbers.

No chance your car is truly making that power, its actually impossible. When you factor in a computer is manufacturing the engines to strict code.

Dyno numbers being different are typically
-different gas
-different weather
-different dyno
-engine health/miles

Took me forever to figure out how to do it. I didn't realize it was just a variation of the 0 to 60. That's a full tank so probably could get a 5.7 or 5.6 on empty?

Ditto! just go to your 0-60 timer, press the right arrow, then you can change your start and stop speed so you could do 20-120 if you want or 45-70. Whatever. Goes in increments of 5mph.
