I found a complete Qjet at my local junkyard for $40 # 17087175. My objectives are to clean and rebuild this unit, put it on my 75 and have my original, #7045223 reconditioned and tuned by the local Qjet guru. The reconditioning could take 3 days or 3 months depending on demands by his racing customers. If everything goes well I can then sell the temporary carb for a slight profit or just let it sit on the shelf for emergencies.
My question deals with jetting of the replacement. Lar's paper calls for 72/46 jet rod combo on my original. The replacement is fitted with 72/54 and a .036 tip. The secondary rods are CG. I have read everything on this forum and most of Lar's instructions and nothing I have read covers a 1987 carb being used on a C3 Should I go with the 72/46 and hope for the best or is there a better solution to this swap? Any help is appreciated.
