2016 Z06 Automatic whining
Just purchased a 2016 Z06 with the 8 speed automatic. I get a whining sound from the rear that occurs upon acceleration and deceleration, but not when the car is "coasting" with no load on the drive train. Is this just the supercharger or should I see the dealer to check for a problem?

I had my diff replaced for the exact opposite - whining on steady state cruise but quiet on accel/decel.
Almost certainly though this is the rear differential and will need to be serviced.

go to a dealer or meet up with another forum member with new z06 to compare before ANYONE tears in to anything.. go for a ride and pay close attention. mistake i made when i "felt" an oscillation in my new sierra. which i was not happy with (or about a million other owners) just to find out ALL OF THEM DO SAME THING to one degree or another lol. just a flawed design. you learn to live with it..

The differential was the problem. Downside...it took almost 4 weeks to get the replacement and have it installed. Upside...everything is working perfectly now. Thanks to everyone for their comments/recommendations.
