I've had mine in since Dec., '15 and have never had a problem with it or had to recalibrate it. Easily the best mod I've done on my C7 and one of the best I've done on any Vette I've owned and that's a bunch of mods.
I agree completely. It's hard to explain the improvement in the car without actually experiencing it yourself, but for me it was a game changer. A big attraction of the C7 was a big horsepower N/A engine that reacted RIGHT NOW, but it just never felt that way in daily driving. The Vitesse was the last piece of the puzzle - any movement of the throttle brings an IMMEDIATE response, exactly the way it should be.
Yes, but I venture to say that if push comes to shove... your SA will speak the party line and side with GM and/or the dealer.
Now you can get into a pissing contest with them via the Magnuson Moss Act in they have to prove the aftermarket part caused the failure. Good luck with that.... as you will need deep pockets and a good lawyer.
Bottomline.... you play you pay! So, if you want 100% warranty leave it stock and no mods what so ever.
Of course the SA can always use discretion to allow - or not allow - coverage where a car is not 100% stock. I have an excellent relationship with my dealer and the SA there. I had the car in last week for the air bag recall, the brake rotor service bulletin and a drivability issue I wanted him to look at. He asked me if I had an aftermarket tune to which I replied no. He knows I have the Vitesse and how it's hooked up and operates and never once did that come into the conversations we had about what I was asking him to look at. I got the car back updated and still under warranty.
I'm willing to forego the warranty if that's what it takes for me to do what I want to my vehicle - such as doing a heads/cam/headers/tune setup on my brand new 2002 C5 with less than 3k mile on it. But there are always reasonable SA's at dealerships that are willing to work with you if you don't try to take advantage of their goodwill. The key is to find the right dealership and SA and to stay between the guardrails they define.
