Hi all. I am having a set of ARH catted mids installed at the dealer and they are having fitment issues on the right side. Apparently they are off by about and inch. ARH recommended they lift the motor but this did not help. I have attached a pic the dealer sent me for reference. Anyone else have these issues? The dealer and ARH are trying to resolve this but in the mean time I'm stuck waiting and hopefully not the bill for the added labor.
I installed my mids myself. there is a sliding sleeve that helps mate the cat to the X-Pipe. Something tells me the installer is missing how this is set up. Unless, ARH changed the design of their catted mids.
The dealer is an ARH distributor, I bought them from a forum vendor, and they tell me they have installed hundreds. I'm just wondering if the wrong ones were sent? The dealer claims they have tried every trick they know to get them to fit. I'm at a loss and I guess I'll just wait and see what they work out. My fear is getting a $1500 labor bill for all the added work.
Streetrod, I know this is going to sound crazy but it's very possible the installer is trying to bolt the right side pipe on the left side header and vice versa. This would not be the first time that's happened. Please have them swap the pipes. I'm available personally at 631-608-1986 for any assistance. Thanks.
Thanks nick. I know they have been dealing with ARH direct, Sal. I'm stuck in the middle with a car in the air and each one is kinda blaming the other. I'm not placing blame on anyone I just want my headers installed right. I'll pass your message on to the dealer. Thank you.
I installed my ARH mids myself on jack stands. The x pipe need to be unbolted and dropped down to adjust the catted section of the pipes. This requires unblocking the skid plate. All connection should be made just slightly snugged. Once they are all connected, then tighten them down.
That seems to be the common theme but you don't have my luck... haven't heard anything from ARH or the dealer yet. I was told they were making a whole new set and were shipping them out yesterday.

AR responded a few post back from these. Did you check to make sure the shop wasnt doing what he said? Mine installed with no issues and the installer said they were way easier than the long tubes to install. After seeing what he said I wonder if maybe if two of the same sides were sent. Just a thought.
There was an issue with he wrong part being sent. ARH stepped up big time and sent the right part over night. Excellent customer service for sure!! Unfortunately the mechanic had Friday off so it sits all weekend.

Good to hear I love my mids, makes it a little louder at idle and a good bit louder when stepping on it so its not too intrusive. And pretty good gains too.
I've never heard one in person so I'm pretty excited. I have the Borla X pipe and they are tuning it as well. Any idea what kind of gains I'll see? Has a AFE CAI , weaponX ported throttle body, headers and tune with X pipe. I'm thinking 30 hp?

Just curious,
Why did you go with the ARH Mids instead of the ARH long tubes? If you were planning on tuning, long tubes will give you better gains.
Good question. I really didn't plan on headers and I already that the X pipe. Looking back and knowing who I am I should have just went long tube from the get go. And actually the reason I didn't want headers in the first place was the whole warranty deal but my dealer has a tremendous speed shop as well and they will not void the warranty as long as they do the work. So once I got that in writing I decided to do the headers and tune. Would long tubes have gained me that much over mids, X pipe and tune?

Honestly IMO since you have X pipe, the mids will net you about 10 less hp than the long tubes and cost hundreds less. With the X pipe and the mids you really have long tubes. I for one wanted the mids more for mid range gains. And I can go back to stock tune and not throw a CEL and still have power gains. I have a thread on here where I did a stock dyno, then a dyno with the mids on, and then a dyno with a tune. In all I went from about 390 rwhp to 430 rwhp.
Wow those are some good numbers! I'm sure with a gain like that you can really feel the difference. My goal is to keep this car NA and not do a blower. Had a blown 392 Challenger and it was really hard to use the power on the street in the Chicago area.

Hey Streetrod,
Literally having the same exact issue and was wondering if you could shed some light on what was missing? I ordered 2 sets of mids from JDP and took both sets with both corvettes to the dealer to install and the same exact fitment issue is occurring with the x-pipe (which is Corsa) and the ARH headers. I emailed my rep at JDP and they assured me they just sent the boxes that ARH gave them straight to me. Left both vehicles over the weekend at the dealer and the dealer is trying to get a handle on it now. Any light would help a lot so we can all get on the same page. I appreciate anything in advance!
The pipe that has the catalytic converter on it was the wrong one. It would not match up as you can see by this pic it was off by quite a bit. They ended up sending the right one and they are finishing it up as we speak. The headers were fine just the wrong end section.
