Default Do tire sizes effect Traction Control operation?

I am planning on running 275/35/18 front. According to Tire Rack the tire diameter is identical to the stock 18 tires. (25.7)

At the rears I would like to run the 305/30/19. According to Tire Rack the tire diameter would be 0.5" smaller than the stock tire. (26.2 vs. 26.7")

Would that ratio difference between the front and rear effect anything, such as the traction control operation? If so, I may select the 265/35/18 size (25.3")

Also, is there anyone out there with a comparison between the stock Michelin SS and the Bridgestone RE-71? Car does not see any track usage but, nearly all of its use is very spirited canyon driving.

It isn't the half inch it is the ratio of the rear tire diameter divided by the front tire diameter you need to be concerned about.

The ratio has to be kept at ~ 1.04 to keep TC and Engine Drag Control happy. You might get lucky and be able to be at 1.02 through 1.06 but there isn't any way to know for sure without trying.

Sounds like the 265 is much closer to 1.04 than the 275. These sizes appear to be widely used by forum members so, please chime in with your experiences with either front/rear combos.

I did run 275/35/18 front, 305/30/19 rear setup at the track; no problems whatsoever. I do not have PTM, though, so cannot speak about it.

I also tried 315/30/18 front 325/30/19 rear last week at Oregon Raceway Park with great results. C7 seems to be much less sensitive to this sort of changes compared to C6.
