Default Do you need a dyno tune with a cat delete?

Just got a quote from vette doctors for a long tube and cat delete x install. $600 for labor and $600 for dyno tune.

Do i really need a dyno tune with the cat delete and long tubes? I thought they just had to do a flash to get rid of the CEL due to no cats.

Long tubes would benefit from a tune. The cat removal just needs some codes disabled but the longtubes can benefit from some logging and tune adjustment.

I know there is a big benefit from getting a tune but is it dangerous to just get the codes disabled? Is it bad not to get the tune? Ir is it no big deal?

You need a tune with long tubes or you will run lean! If you just talking X-pipe and removing the secondary CATs that is a different story.

These cars from the factory run rich as it is. I have put LT headers, 3 inch mid pipe, pulled the back cats, Cold air box on the car, ported T.B. with a ported intakes, Borla NPP cat back on the car.

Now by the looking of the plugs they look good before they were really black to almost a wet on all 8 of them.

Car runs better than it ever did before the chg out of parts. But also put a tune on it from hand piece with a Diablo T-1000.
