I was doing the Comp seat conversion. I completed Pass seat first and moved on to the drivers. Anyway. I disconnected the battery each time etc.
On my last reconnect, I dropped the negative cable, which made contact with a spark and went to connect it, again making contact with a spark.
I received the usual messages about window and drivers seat memory, but also a message that stated service the rear end. That message went out and isn't returning. The car now has 17k miles on the odo.
I know there is an electric clutch limited slip. could the negative bump brought this on? Why would this need to be serviced at this time?
I am thinking here it was the 2014 model that cars was coming out of the factory with low rear fluid in them. It may be reading your's being low now for what ever reason.
But for sure one yr of the c7 was like I said here... Robert
I got the same message when I was doing my supercharger installation. It went away and never came back. I think it had something to do with pulling the negative battery cable for so long?

Thank you for your reply. But I'm not so sure duration of disconnect is issue. When I installed my headers, I had the battery disconnected for a few days and didn't receive that message. I'm thinking it was the amount of times that the negative cable made contact with the battery post before being secured. Of all the times I had the battery disconnected, that was the first time I had bumped the post a couple of times before reconnection. My guess anyway, I am hoping for confirmation. I don't mind servicing the rear end. Of course the manual states that isn't needed until 45k miles!
