Default Transmission shudder or rough running?

2016 C-7, A8 trans 9300 miles. took into dealer explained it seemed to shudder/stutter when throttle depressed mostly between 40-80 mph but even some at lower speeds. they checked, said they could not replicate my concerns, found nothing amiss but did say it seemed to run somewhat rough? they suggested possible flawed fuel and to run the tank down and use Shell high octane and see if it smooths out? Have been using only Chevron 93 but then who knows? I did let them know I was not happy but they contend that if the issue cannot be replicated they cannot do much...and I suppose that is a legitimate statement?
Any ideas folks?

Do you have any of these symptoms (these were posted by another member with similar concerns):

(1) - Surging and Lugging - Your car can't seem to maintain constant speed. I noticed this especially when in cruise control in V4 and your RPMs go up and down. This IS NOT normal unless you go from v4 into V8.

(2) - Shuddering - Feels like you are running over a rough road when you are on a smooth road. Comes and goes without warning. Mine did this and I thought my front tires were out of balance.

(3) - Vehicle Lurches - Mine did this maybe 3-4 times when at slow idle.

(4) - Slow to go into gears including reverse. Mine was slow to go into reverse.

(5) - Gears don't shift easy.

(6) - Strange Noises - Clicking or revving.

(7) - Gears Slipping - Loss of acceleration.

(8) - Overheating.

you have to take the tech they are assigning to your repair for a ride and show them how it acts which is causing concern for you.

if not available, then the service writer and if they REALLY give you nonsense for an answer, the service manager/director.

I took my 2015 Z51 (A8) in for the airbag recall and oil change this past week. On the way home at about 65 mph in cruise control I noticed the "rumble". I use cruise control a lot and I never experienced that before (11k miles). The speed does not hold constant and I noticed that the RPMs were undulating in sync with the "shudder" and speed. The RPMs increase by 1 or 2 hundred and then fall back. It's during the decrease in RPM that the "shudder" occurs. It is true that there is a slight roughness when going from 4 to 8 cylinders but that is only momentary.
Time to go back to the dealer I guess. ?? We can't be the only ones.
I found one other post that mentions the symptom.

I will start a new thread in C7 General Discussions to see if anyone else is having the problem.

These are classic symptoms of a torque converter "Lock-up Clutch" in the transmission not operating correctly... There are a few cases that I am aware of locally that have had to get the torque converter replaced in their C7. If you go back to your GM dealer with the complaint and describe it like you did here they should be able to diagnose if that is your problem fairly quickly. If the torque converter clutch does not engage properly it will cause a shutter in the vehicle and you will see a 100 to 300 fluxuation in the RMP on the tachometer. Hope this helps...

Just an FYI here... I was having problems with my 2015 Z06 with the A8 transmission slow to go into reverse and drive (took 2 to 3 seconds) and would finally engage with a very harsh bang. The problem was worst when the engine was cold and when you would back out of the garage then go from reverse to drive (would almost shake your teeth out...). This was solved with a transmission programing update by my dealership and it is smooth as silk when it goes into gear now. Please keep in mind this will not cure any shutter you are feeling while driving or fluxuations in RPM while cruising at steady speeds.

I have a 2014 Z51 M7. It's currently doing something that sounds like #1 and #2 above. Best way to describe it, when I'm driving (city streets or cruising at a constant speed on the highway), the car will randomly shudder or hiccup, and kind of lurch forward as if someone walked up and shoved you, and I can hear what sounds like a gear or gears catching. Did you ever figure out what it was? I don't have a rough idle and I'm not getting any error messages. I also have a new whining noise coming from the rear. I wonder if it's related.
