Haha, that's what I was thinking when I saw this posted in c5 section, awful video, you can't tell if the c7 is really racing and when it looks like he may be the c5 loses.
Whatever-----I spent 12 K to get my C5 with an auto trans to run 12.0 in the 1/4 mile---It had approx 475 crank HP
I took my bone stock C7 A6 to the track with only 460 crank HP and it ran almost the same exact 12.0------With simple bolt ons CAI / cat back---I expect it would be easily in the mid 11's------------ The new A6's transmissions in the C7 are so efficient that now the drive train loss on an auto trans is equal to or lower than that of a manual trans
FACT-----The fastest Corvette ever is a C7 Z06 with an auto trans 8 speed---NOT a Z06 with a manual trans------ 1st time ever an auto trans outruns a manual trans !!!!!!!!!!
Just went from C5 (lot of perfornpmsnce mods) to base C7.
Enjoy being able to drive and actually have a conversation with my wife.
Not only have a conversation but hear the music at the same time. The other little things like smooth ride, much improved steering response, faster without any mods. Then there's that warranty thing that lets me nit pick for free. Loved my C5 and it got me into the corvette world, C7 is just an incredible sports car and have received more compliments in first few days of ownership than in two years of owning the C5.
because it screams 80's style and chevy was still doing it in 2004.
The 80s were the start of the golden era when it came to pop up head lights. Before 1984, they were vacuum operated. How much fun it was diagnosing a lazy headlight in a C3.
