Default Trailer wiring

Has anyone installed trailer wiring themselves. I am looking for
some direction, does the rear facia need to be removed, was a
kit of some kind used, where attached, Etc? Thanks, John

To be safe, make sure you use LED lamps for the trailer lighting. The rear tail lights are LED, and the BCM that drives the factory LED lights may not handle the significantly higher current of regular incandescent bulbs.

Savage, I communicated with that gentleman on building the hitch and he helped a lot. I have reached out to him about wiring but have not heard back. Maybe too many guys have been bugging him on the hitch plans.
Thanks, John
