Default Looking for a proper sub-belt mount

Does anyone make a proper sub-belt mount for use with a 6-point harness and while maintaining the 20 degree backwards angle recommended by Schroth (http://www.schroth.com/en/segments/r...tructions.html)?

The Vetteworks Lap Belt Bar (http://www.vetteworksonline.net/cata...nfrvr1e4cs3h90) doesn't appear to meet this requirement. In fact it may also violate the lap belt angle requirement (at least 60 degrees angle down from horizontal) depending on where the seat is located.

For lab belt mounts is seems like the Brey-Krause lab belt mount kit (http://www.bkauto.com/R_9160_Lap_Bel...7_p/r-9160.htm) would be the better choice, maintaining the proper angle as the seat is adjusted forward and back.

I would prefer a sub-belt mount that attaches to the bottom of the seat versus the floor of the car. I have these (https://cantrellmotorsport.com/produ...ub-belt-mount/) in my Porsche Cayman GT4 and it works very well.

That sub belt mount would be ideal if you want to convert to a race seat. I doubt you will be able to use it with the stock GM seat. There is a bunch of stuff under the seat skin: a heating pad, a seat cooling duct under the foam, fans, power seat motors and linkages and seat bolster air pump. I haven't seen it personally but it also looks like there is some sort of metal panel the seat foam sits on.

I solved the sub belt question by going with the Schroth Profi II ASM belts. That way I can run a 4 point belt without worrying about submarining. However, I also have purchased sub belts that go with that harness system so I can use them if I encounter an organization that doesn't understand the ASM belts. I use the BK lap belt mounts with my Schroth Belts and they are capable of handling the sub belts as well. All I have to do is clip in the sub belts, lay them on the seat, get in the car and fasten the lap belt followed by pulling the sub belts up between my legs and plugging them into the bottom of the cam lock.

If need be I can adjust the sub belts without getting under the seat.

This is a permissible application of sub belts and is depicted in the Schroth Competition Instructions as the Formula Configuration. It is mainly designed for lay down seating positions like you would see in an F1 car or Indy car but will work with the upright seating position you have in the Corvette.

If you have any questions PM me.

Thanks Bill, you're describing my plan B - the Formula configuration, not the ASM-style harness since I'm using a HANS device.

I could have sworn that somebody on this forum has put a slot in the factory competition seat for the sub-belt. I have the 1LZ interior package so no heated/cooled seats, etc. I may need to go to full race buckets in the long run...

OK, it turns out you can use HANS with ASM harnesses, so I stand corrected. Good info here: https://www.hmsmotorsport.com/products/profi-ii-asm. Thanks for pointing me in this direction, Bill - I believe I will be following in your footsteps.
