Z51 Red Caliper Install - Done!
It took forever to get 4 good calipers via mail order. A word of caution to anyone choosing to order them: make sure to instruct the seller to use adequate packing material. I literally had to send all 4 back once, and one twice. They are so heavy that unless there the boxes are packed tight with insulating material they move around inside and wear marks form on the paint.
But I finally got four good ones, and after the new year my 10-year-old son and I made time to do the install. I could have paid a local shop $300 to do it for me, but I really wanted to do it myself. Thanks to everybody who answered my questions on the previous thread. It was a huge help. The job took longer than it probably should have, but I am confident we did it right, and the brakes are working flawlessly, and squeak-free! We ended up using Carbotech 1521s. There seem to be a lot of threads about them, good and bad. So far, so good for me. No noise, and seemingly much less dust than OEMs. But a bit expensive, and I can't compare them to anything else.
Before and after pics are included. (If you look closely, the first pic has two different center caps I was trying, too!) Suffice it to say I am proud to have done the job ourselves, and I am in love with her in her red shoes!

Looks good man much better. I will tell you this I just put stainless lines on my car. I know you had fun getting the brake line loose on the car
I still say they put 10lbs of shi* in a 5lb space on every place in these cars.
It took me over 3 hours the chg out my brake lines and put new diff pads onto my car. That was even after I got it on the lift and all 4 tires off the car.

Man again car looks good man stands out just a little more with them on the car... Robert
