#17-NA-013: Performance Data Recorder Track Timing
Thought I saw a post about inaccurate PDR lap times a while back but couldn't seem to find it when I searched the forums. So in case anyone needs it...

Gonna take this to the local dealer this week hopefully. I'll report back. Strong work on finding it. Thanks.

So the question now is what is the latest software?

I made a service appointment for next Saturday. The dealer is so busy with 'season' in South FL that I can't even get a service advisor on the phone.
***Update: Service manager is checking into it and getting back to me on Monday.

I dropped my car off at the dealer today. I had to take it there anyway because the grease boot on the LCA was melted. I didn't have an appointment though so we'll see when they can get to it and get the car back to me. I'll report back when I get it back.

Dayum!!!
The PDR takes really great videos of your track sessions, drag racing, or just scenic drives.
Some owners use it as a dashcam so they have some video in the event of a crash.
The "valet mode" will show you what's going on if you have a valet park the car, and I've seen a valet video that was taken when a dealership guy took the car out for a drive.
Bottom line - I use it all the time!!

Crap, I had one lap about 3 seconds faster than all my other ones this weekend. I have a bad feeling this is why.
Is there any way you can tell by watching the video of the lap? Or is it off by so little at a time that it is tough to see with the naked eye?

Just watch the lap and time it with your watch. 2-3 seconds isn't subtle.

Another easy way to do this is open that lap and another lap in the Cosworth toolbox. Look at the time difference graph and you'll see the delta suddenly go near vertical when the time jumps ~2 seconds.

Attempt 2. Dealer had the car all day. Said they did the update. Software version unchanged. FML.

Thanks Bill. I may take you up on it. There is some electronic signature for the software based on Vin when they log into the GM system. The corvette tech showed me my old software had an asterisk next to it meaning GM didn't recognize that version for my VIN. Who knows how that came about. The second try he was going to call GM and troubleshoot a workaround but said he decided to just overwrite the PDR software as 'new' rather than updating. (Whatever that means). That simply got me nothing but the same version shown. I'll give them one more crack at it and then perhaps work with you on trying your version.

It took 4 times to get the update done on my car. First time took over an hour and failed. Second time took a lot less but didn't change the software level, third time the update flashed through in a couple of seconds and didn't change the software. Last time it took 5 plus minutes and to load the software and after it did its reboot of the system the software level had changed. I have the new software on my PC if you want to try it at home. All you have to do is put it on an SD card and load into the PDR SD card slot. However, check to make sure which software package is the correct one based on your car's VIN. The software is a pretty big file so can't be emailed. It has to be loaded to something like drop box.

By the way, I had this done a couple weeks ago. The dealer had a heck of a time trying to get it installed using their SD card. So they asked if they could use the one I had in the car already.. which worked first time.
No idea why.. Dealer thought that maybe they needed new SD cards.
