Well you're effectively doubling the duel supply to the cylinder. So it really is just a way to run additional fuel and avoid adding meth injection.
It's another way to be able to run full e85 also.
However keep in mind a secondary port injection setup takes a completely separate pump (you have to sump the gas tank) and a completely separate ECU to run it.
More fuel supply / volume = ability to run higher octane = more power
