Hello just joined the forum. I just bought a 2016 Z06 with 700 miles. Laguna blue. Awesome car, awesome performance, and awesome attention getter. I have a question if anyone can help. I can't contact the original owner. It has some type of controller installed at bottom of dash on driver side. No markings or name info on it. Does anyone recognize it? Engine tuner? Light controller? Any help would be appreciated.
Have a look at your front grill. Is there anything at all there that's not factory? I would assume that the only OEM "add-ons" that might look added to the grillwork would be 2 cameras on a z06.
I'm thinking the two could be remotes for a laser jammer and radar detector (though I wouldn't mount a controller so far out of reach). If so, it would "control" at least 2 sensors mounted on the front grill somewhere.
If you dismount it and can successfully remove the velcro or whatever, there could be a brand and serial/model number you could Google.
My google-fu is weeeak. I couldn't find anything on the 3-button remote. But if I was a bettin' man, I'd bet the previous owner gutted the bulk of the accessories and just left the controllers because they're too much hassle to remove. The sensors are the expensive parts from everything (what little) I know about these things.
Please gimme a clue: What's that mean, "Googled the pic"? What was your process?
I dragged the picture of the remote into Google Images, but all I got was a bunch of Nintendo game controllers--LOTS of 'em. I'd love to know how you found the picture you posted.
Thanks!
Everything for the PPT seems to be only available in Japanese or maybe German...
I did it on my iPad simply by holding my finger on the picture and choosing "Search Google for this image". I don't know how to do it on a PC, although I have figured it out before and forgot.
You bet! Although I have to say it was more dumb luck than ninja nerd skills.
Have you tried the throttle gizmo out yet or is it even hooked up to anything?
No I have' tried it yet. Now that you helped identify it, I'm getting operating instructions from the OEM. I will let you know once i give it a try. Most all of the reviews have been very positive about the improved throttle response.
