Annoying chirping noise for my C7
Hi all,
I need your help with my new C7 (2016, Z51, 2LT).
It has an annoying chirping noise when accelerating around the 1500-1700 RPM range.
It mostly happens when driving up a hill, and it never happens when I decelerate, nor when idle.
The sound is coming from rear of the car.
It sounds somewhat like a bird, or even a rattlesnake or cricket. I have a video for the sound but its format is mp4, which can't be uploaded.
It is a brand new car. When I bought it, it had only 14 miles. This problem happened even when I drove it home (about 10 miles from the dealer) for the first time, since my home is on the top of a hill. The dealer is not sure what is going on.
Thanks

"warble" sound

Bottom line, more than a few A8 tranny cars have a mismatched ring & pinion in the rear end. There is some doubt that the problem exists with Z51's, but I'm not so sure.

Kinda hard to hear your sound from words. But my high pitched chirp or a Bird's peep is from the rotor/hub interface. And there is a Bulletin on it. Need to pull the wheels and clean the wheel hub mating surface with alcohol. BTW, if you trust your dealer they will listen with you and then do the cleaning for you. I don't and am about to change out my wheels/tires to my SC2s so will clean the surface in a few weeks when I do that change.

Sounds like the rubber inside the pin hole to the targa top may be dryer out and rubbing the pin. I would try a little lube of some kind and see if that makes a difference
