So I'm in the midst of a full rebuild and when all is said and done things will be quite different. Currently have an S-Trim blower with dual meth and long tubes and am tuned for that setup.
After the rebuild I will have:
- E85 sensor will be installed
- forged pistons with same compression
(These two should not have any affect on tune/drivability)
Will also have
- full Z06 fuel system hardware (rails/HPFP/injectors)
- full stage 2 cam with 32% fuel lobe (DoD deleted)
I know the Z06 injectors require a tune due to the changed flow rate and the cam surely will as well. These I know will greatly effect drivability. So, will the car run fine enough to drive it two hours to a tuner? Or will I need to get it towed there?
Can you ask your tuner? Are you going to dyno it? If so I'm curious to what your numbers are, if not I look forward to your impressions after you get it dialed in.

I was going to call them about it this week. It's going to be a new tuner for me, and yes will be dyno tuned. Likely would be Howard Tanner at Redline over in Pompano, FL area. Current numbers are 640hp/620tq. Afterwards prolly close to 800.
you could probably drive it if you are just cruising over. I would definitely not be romping on it.
Definitely would only be cruising over. Take offs would be VERY gentle. I just wasn't sure if the injector timing/pulse or the came would be ok or if it would be so far off it would cause any damage.
Well crap. Not what I was hoping to hear. I also wonder about engine/ring break in procedure as well. If you can't drive the car until you have it tuned, but you're supposed to put 500 miles or so on the motor before romping on it to allow the rings to properly seat, what do you do? Lol

Breaking in rings is silly thing. They seat almost instantly. We have a base tune in go drive it get it up to temp put some load on it. Change out the break in oil than put it on the dyno and let it eat! Have had zero failures by doing this that was ring or bearing related. 99% of engine failures we see are the setup was pushed way past the acceptable limits or the owner did something really stupid.

Have Higgs send ya a tune and it should be close enough... still wouldn't really romp on it, just stay low throttle keeping it in closed loop control so fueling is taken care of... plus with that cam it will need some idle rpm and injector/hpfp changes, etc
