With the pushbutton start that these cars have, is it possible to somehow select an "Accessory" function, like on the rotary/tumbler ignition switches? ....somehow to get power to radio, window motors, etc. without having to start the engine.

Thanks in advance for any information on this topic.

Push the start button without your foot on the brake and clutch and the button will light up amber. You'll have radio, windows, and some DIC settings for about 10 minutes.

You can hold the button for about 10 seconds without the brake and clutch to enter "service mode." This will give you access to all DIC setup choices as well as full dash, radio, and window power. YOU NEED TO PUSH THE START BUTTON AGAIN TO EXIT THIS MODE - THERE IS NO TIME OUT.

Enjoy!

With your foot off the brake press and release the start button and the vehicle is in accessory mode. After 5 minutes it will switch off to avoid excessive battery drain. There is also a service mode which is entered by holding the start button in for 5 seconds without pressing the brake pedal and this allows instruments and accessories to operate as if the engine were running however this mode does NOT time out so be careful not to run down the battery.

When you shut your car down there is RAP (retained accessory power) until you open the door or up to 10 minutes if the door is kept closed and this allows the audio system and windows to operate. After 10 minutes expires you can press the audio system power button to turn on the radio without the need to start the accessory mode.

On edit: Ron is a fast typer and he crosses the finish line first

NSC5,

Thank you for the information. I was aware of the 10-minutes span after the engine is turned off. But I never heard a name for the function - RAP. Plus I was unaware of the ability to turn on the radio without going to full accessory mode. Very nice to know.

Thank you again.
