Give Brian tooley a call at vendor in here are was www.briantooleyracing.com He is great on trick flow heads and cam combo.. But more than that you need to get a cam spec out for your motor build & what you are wanting to do with the car. Robert
1) No idea. Replacing a cam in this engine is different than the LS series. Everyone I've spoken with or read about will pull the engine to do the replacement. Plus now they are adding warranties which jacks the cost.

3) Yes. Texas Speed, Lingenfelter, Livernois, Katech, et al.

One of the vendors in here does it & pulls the motor, Plus they will put in forged pistons in the car only, But with this all new gaskets 7 all that comes with that. But 5,k plus for just putting in pistons only I would buy a short block & come out a ton better.. Robert

I never asked about the procedures for replacing the cam... I was asking about the cam choices themselves.
Comp Cam grinds most of the cams so I would talk to them, too. They advertise many different lobe profiles ... lift, duration, and rate... then factor in lobe separation the number of combinations is mind boggling.
Then there is the question of where in the RPM range you want the power to be. So the best is relative.

Heard of a few people who got cams ground incorrectly from Comp lately. Several vendors use CamMotion now and are getting good results. I have a Vengeance Racing cam I am in the middle of installing which was cut by CamMotion..

I've heard similar so I'm definitely staying away from Comp. I'm trying to get a feel for the cams that people already have in their cars and with what mods they have that produce their HP numbers and 1/4 times. I'm looking at getting a c7 this year and would like it to be in the 10's naturally aspirated with no nitrous. Tying to gauge what people are running now with similar specs.
