Default Smog friendly mods for LT1

I have been tossing around the idea of getting rid of my 06 Z06 an going to a C7 Grand Sport. What would be some good legal mods to give me a power bump?

I believe A&A got their blower kit carb approved.

The Calif smog question.

You won't have to worry about smog for 7 years I believe.

Then you have the new STAR smog stations which I also believe don't use a sniffer or rolling road, just a OBD plug in.

Bump in HP....yes a super charger may be what you are after.

Other options, to pass a visual smog, would be a camshaft, cylinder head blue printing, hi flow cats maybe not much else.

Reversing mods at smog inspection time some say is a PITA.

None the less.....good hunting.

I got real nice gains out of ported OEM exhaust manifolds (basically the same as ARH mid-length catted headers) and they appear stock from the outside. You might be able to get a Borla X-pipe past as well since the secondary cats are unmonitored and once the tunnel plate is back in place it doesn't stand out at all. There is always a drop-in air filter as well.

Why get a GS and mod it? Why not get a Z06 and drive slower than normal? You'd be just as fast (yes I know they cost more, but so do mods).

If this is about overheating... There's nothing "wrong" with a Z06 that isn't also "wrong" with any 650hp Corvette right now - lack of frontal cooling inlet area. If you make 650hp with a GS and drive it on a road course you'll have the same problem.

So far as I'm concerned getting a GS and then modifying for power makes little sense when GM has already done and (mostly) validated a complete solution.

PS: I came from an '07 Z to the '15 Z, you'll love it.
