Default Removing plenum cover

I have everything done except I can't get the harness plug undone to take the plenum off. Don't want to destroy the connector. Any help will be awesome

Take a tiny flat blade screwdriver and slide that blue retaining clip over, then press down on the button and pull.

Wish someone would post the connector in the unlocked position.
Does the blue piece slide left or right?

Fat side of the blue thing is what slides out. I can take before/after pics tomorrow if needed.

Default Need clarification on Wire Harness Plug removal.

I am afraid that if I pry on wrong part and brake it; it will cost me hundreds of dollars for GM to replace the wiring harness.

I really want to spruce up the engine compartment.

Thanks for the photos and any additional help on this.

I broke the piece trying to get it off but it cost me about $15 to order a replace off eBay so it won’t cost you hundreds.

KG,

Well that is sorta good news; however it confirms my fear of braking the plastic locking tab.

Do you have a replacement Part Number or Description that could be used to locate a replacement?

TIA

It's in my post #18

In case you break the part like many others.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-on-a-z51.html

Post number 18 has part number on diagram

Number 24 on the diagram and the part number is 12670978

Number 24 on the diagram and the part number is 12670978 Tube $75.68 and also Part number 12644228 sensor $77.72

I prices above was when i did my initial search I emailed to myself to have handy. However, google the part number and search amazon, ebay and all vendors that come up and click until you find the right price for you I needed two parts because although I disconnected the blue tab, when I pulled it out the pins separated as if they rotted or just defective. Post #17, you will see three metal pins that separated when I pulled the connector to get it off after releasing the blue tab so that's why i had to replace.

That said I recall I got one part for less than $20 and the other for less than $30... Timing is everything like catching a sale or special. Lastly, I noticed that the EXACT same part is used interchangeably on many makes and models but just different part numbers. I recall calling the vendor they said it was interchangeable although the website might not say it.

These four google and ebay links will get you started in the event you need to find part

Ok so I think I am ready to tackle this project.

I will gently pry Blue Slide (B) out.

Press Down on LEVER (E) WHILE slowly wiggle & Pulling Outer section of 2 piece Plug.

Once I get the Plenum cover off, I am going to attempt to paint it Carbon Black with Blade Silver runners. Worst case, I will have repaint it all Silver.
