C7 RPM's hanging around 4-6k HELP!
Basically after making any sort of WOT pull, and kicking clutch in to throw into Neutral, the rpms will hang 4-6k.
Was running 1/4 mile, and after every pass, it would go like this;
No lift **** 1-2 2-3 3-4, then kick in clutch and take car outta gear and start braking at end of run, and RPMS would hang high, and it seemed the harder braking I did, the more the RPM's hung..
tried blipping gas, only made worse. RPM's wouldn't fall until I made the turn to come off track. Very weird, and scary.
Car is procharged, cammed, on meth, running pump gas.

Why are you putting car in neutral? Just let off the throttle and use the brakes. I slow from over 150 by taking my foot off the throttle and braking heavily. Putting the car in neutral isn't required and may be why you are seeing the rpms hang.

I guess I didn't mention above, but the car is a stick shift. I've never seen nor known of anyone not throwing it outta gear after a WOT pass?

I've had similar problems with my C7. My RPMs stuck around 3-4K when I pushed the clutch in during normal driving. It has happened twice so far. Once when accelerating and once when coming to a stop at a stoplight. It was definitely scary. I have Kooks headers/ x-pipe, Corsa exhaust, and AFE intake.

This is in the tune and related to the air table in neutral and the throttle position. Take the car to whoever tuned it and tell them to fix .

If it's not in the tune, which is what I was thinking but you said no, I can't explain why your car hangs the RPMs if rev match is off, but from a practical standpoint, easy to work around.

We could argue all day about whether it's better to depress the clutch alone or do that plus neutral, but in your car, after a WOT pass, I'd leave it in gear but press in the clutch and start braking.
