Default Replacing battery

just picked up a 2014 premier edition and did some research on basic maintenance such as pad replacement and changing a battery. have done bothe on many corvettes i've owned. the pad replacement looks pretty straight forward even though it is different from what i'm used to. the battery is another matter. i took a look and see where the two terminals are. my question is the fuse box or whatever it is that sits on top of half the battery. couldn't find any videos on how to physically remove the battery. do you have to remove the box or can use just slide the battery out from underneath it. looks like there may not be enough room to do that. please advise.

thanks much! one question remains and that is why did gm see fit to over complicate something as simple as changing a battery?

And I thought changing the engine air filter was a PITA

Yeah, welcome to life with a semi-exotic. Just be glad ya don't have to pull the engine to replace the cam belts or a leaking V-12 exhaust manifold like my buddy with his Italian cars.
