I just purchased a used 2015 3LT stingray and it has slotted and drilled rotors, just wondering if they bare stock or after market? I see all the talk about drilled rotors not being reliable due to cracking around the holes and just wondered if that was true why would GM accept the liability for them.
Are the tires 19" front and 20" rear? That's another clue you have a Z51, Also, look under the hood for the dry sump tank located at the passenger's side firewall. Should see a yellow dip stick. All Z51 have the dry sump tank.
If you don't have the tires and dry sump, then its a base car and those are not stock rotors.

Z51 rotors are slotted but not drilled. These sound like after market rotors. I doubt they would be warrantied, but check with the dealer.

Not a Z51 but has NPP and only had 8K miles on it when I purchased it. Is there an option brake package for the 3lt that might be on it. Got car from a Lexas dealer and they only called it a3lt had no idea about NPP or what it was. Thanks

Non z51 cars have the option of adding the NPP. The 3lt package is a trim level package and has nothing to do with the brake rotors. Sounds like the original owner changed the rotors.
OK I got it they have to be something he added in short time he owned the car. Going to do an upgrade and dump these things.
GM didn't deliver drilled rotors on any version of the C7. Drilled rotors on the street aren't a problem so you don't have to hurry swapping them out. If you plan on doing any track events you will want to get rid of them.
Hard to say. Wilwood also makes slotted rotors for people who run their car on track. Wilwood's current C7 Z06 offering comes with a choice of rotors if you know where to look. You can get everything from a ceramic rotor to drilled/slotted. Here is a slotted rotor that can be ordered instead of the drilled/slotted rotor picture in the kit: http://www.wilwood.com/Rotors/RotorP...emno=160-13806
