Has anyone sleeved the 4 exhaust tips? Do the little holes actually do anything??
I am in the process of doing this on my 2018 GS, but was wondering if someone has beat to it and if is worth the effort???
Did it change the sound any??
If no one has done this and I finish this project I will let you know what if any changes it made. I have the mild to wild switch installed.
I have no idea what the perforations might do but the parts probably cost more to make because of them. GM wouldn't pay extra for the parts if the perforations didn't provide a sound reduction/tuning feature needed to meet sound regulations or provide a more desirable sound to Customers.
I made much longer (somewhere between 12-14") stainless-tip type mufflerettes, similar to our stock ones, for one of my cars I'd put a crate LS3 engine in. They made little to no difference in tone or volume of the sound. Definitely NOT worth the time and effort, so I'm thinking going the other way would be a waste, as well.
