Default Mounted plastic box under rear support

Yesterday my friend was behind me and noticed something hanging down towards the rear of my 2015. Further inspection shows a black plastic box-like piece mounted on the cross member (for lack of better description). I can't see any functional use for this. Does anyone know what this is. I'll attempt to attach a photo

Looks like an anchor for the outer housing of the parking brake cables. You have one on each side.

Ron, Thanks for chiming in. The piece I'm referring to is the lowest part of the pics. It's about 9 inches long and mounted under the cross member

Looks to be an air deflector to help cool something in the area. Probably the air cooled fins directly above it.

it is to get air to the transmission. There is another thread some time ago where we tried to pinpoint which model/transmission from which years had it but we couldn't get to a good conclusion. I wish i had something like that on my 2015 z51 M7 to help with transmission temps at the track.
