Default Given these Mods....realistic expectations

I know there are 1000 posts on individual mods already, however I could not find one with exact results on this combo.

I'm not new to modding Corvettes, in fact every Vette I have owned has been pretty significantly modded. To that point, I'm new to the C7 model and just picked up a new C7 Grand Sport. Went to my local tuner who has done most of my work in the past.

Not going crazy to start with and looking at some light Mods now to perk it up abit before the bigger mods down the road (likely Forced Induction).

Looking at the following:

Vararam Intake
Weapon X Porter Throttle Body
Kooks 1 7/8 LT Headers
Kooks High Flow Cats with their X-Pipe
Custom Tune

They are claiming I should pick up between 55-60rwhp all in. Does that sound about right? These are pretty common mods, anyone made them and have any regrets...codes...something you would have done differently etc? For example I was considering the 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 "Stepped Headers" but being I am likely going FI later don't know how much of an advantage.

Thanks, Rick

I think its going to be more like 50 rwhp with a good tune. A lot of hype but haven’t seen a lot of proven numbers with the Vararam yet. If you’re going with a blower in the future I would do the Kooks 2” long tubes. The ported TB is more about response than the minimal power gain. Those are pretty mild mods & I wouldn’t expect any CELs, especially with the Kooks. Good luck.

The edgyvette ported intake manifold is only $300 after core exchange and would nicely complement the mods u mentioned. Likely get u closer to or just over the 55-60rwhp they estimated..

I have done some research and know that the Port TB is more about throttle response, is the benefit of the Ported Intake similar? Obviously I get that making the air flow with less disruption is better and can lead to more HP....but just for arguments sake taking the other CAI and Headers off the for second, how much would the ported parts yield me in HP? Same question but for throttle response? I notice the C7 seems to lag abit on the throttle response. Mind you my other car is CTS-V so pretty much everything (stock) seems to lag compared to that.

I’d guess that in conjunction with an intake/longtubes/tune, the ported tb/intake would add 15+ rwhp along with great throttle response...

I can’t give actual numbers though, because my motor blew before I could install the ported tb/intake...

I’m being conservative.I’m thinking approximately 30 hp.With A tune 10-15 more.So your close to that number.Remember all engines will give divergent numbers. The same with exact cars. One will be just A little faster or slower.
