How many C7 cammed cars are there really?
#41
So just to be clear, there is no how to or write up for an install of a cam for the LT1?

Thats exactly how I feel. when shopping cams. no one wants to tell you what is what. which is how a real gear head wants to pick one.....
the people who buy them blind are buying them just because they like or want a Vengeance stage 3 or something. so they don't even care what the specs are really they wants a dyno number or a sound. and a name to put with it.
and copying specs... they are all in the same ranges... I mean I have 3 of the top venders 1-2-3 specs on a pad after lots of crap to get them... they are all so close its just a name picking.
Then there is the guys, its a CUSTOM cam... ok sure. what is the car? a stock bolt on car. (Like mine) so its a basically a shelf cam spec with a 1-2 degrees changes.... we talking 5hp at most swing either way ha.... and they have no clue the specs when asked either so they don't even know if its custom... not something that is in need or something custom.. in my thoughts go with something that works and is proven in your application.

As to the list. Non-forum customer- Z06
Cam, F1-A, Alky, LG Headers, Corsa Exhaust 705whp 701w lb/ft
Have a customer bringing a ZL1 in after the 1st of the year for a cam (I know it's Corvette forum but it's still an LT motor.)

From the vendor side I'd say warranty is one factor. I think the other two reasons are a bit intertwined. The LT motors take more time, which means more labor and at that point how cost effective is it versus a pulley od and headers. I think shops don't push cams as much anymore because they are a pain in the a** with all the silicon sealant versus gaskets.

I debated that plate, my Boats have been names Obnoxious, and the Two Obnoxious, and now back to Obnoxious. and my truck has always had OBNOXIS but never had it on a car, and was out of ideas so got the 6 letter version for this one ha.
thanks guys hears hoping for 520+ and driving good but anything over 500 and driving good will be good..
It made 431/449 un-tuned with the intake and headers. Tuner said a few degrees of timing coul dhave been added fuel was close but still rich maybe 15hp... ore so if we had tuned it like it was... the cam should add 71-75 at the wheels. and then some from just tuning... so
That would make since when most with intake and headers and tune make 450
Just ballparking
Dynoed 431 +15 from tune + 71 min from cam = 517
Dynoed 431 + 15 form a tune + 75 = 521
450+71 = 521
450 + 75 = 525
SO guessing 515-525 all out.

Ok, car is done for the moment. Other then a 160 thermostat they forgot to install.....
It put down 505rwhp / 474 rwtq when it was done. Not bad for a 93 daily driver NA car, it pulls good up top. Drives SUPER easy like no bucking at all which is surprising, could have went bigger....ha But makes for a nice driver for sure. can even hold 7th at 55mph with out bucking so that's impressive.
Made a quick walk around at lunch since it was clean, and warmed up.

I mean I know there are more in the world then this forum but, I have searched for cam results, and cam installs, and almost every search detailed to basic.
And there is literally like less then 10 LT1 cammed C7 cars on this form it seams.
Is it really that rare?
so if you have a cam installed, post up.

So what was the question? Was it how MANY, or did you want to know how many HERE?
I'd probably guess it's really not many in the world. Probably less than 1000 out of all the Lt1 Lt4's produced.
Here? Guess less than 50? Most people here are REALLY adverse to losing the warranty... As the cars get older, I'd suspect it will go up.

Installing it next month once this weather breaks. Would you happen to know the crank HP and TQ?
