Default #3 thrust bearing failure

What are you guys doing to reduce #3 thrust bearing failure? Maybe using a diff bearing like clevite or some other?? Or just new fresh factory bearing?..

I used factory bearings in my build. One of the big things to remember is the thrust bearing needs to be "set" per the service manual. The manual states "To properly align the crankshaft thrust bearings, the final thrust of the crankshaft MUST be in the forward direction.

Using a plastic-face hammer, tap the crankshaft rearward, then forward in order to align the thrust bearings.."

I know this is an old thread, but I thought the Thrust bearing has to be set between 3-5 milimeters behind, because the natural tendency of the crank wants to walk forward.

Is the dealer responsible for replacing the
Engine if the dealer replaced the torque tube and caused the thrust bearing to fail?

Yes.

But "it was like that when you brought it in, We didn't do nothing, Normal wear, You abused the car, and it was raining when you brought it in"

You get the idea.

But good luck.
