Good morning all- -so, I have read dozens of comments about this brake problem so no need to repeat or summarize here.
I have a 2015 Stingray (purchased new April 2015) with 6800 miles on it and the squeaky issue has been with me forever! I am going in for a routine oil change in the next week or so & thought I would ask/demand GM replace the brakes.
Bad/good strategy?? What do u think?
Thanks very much.
As a first step, they'd likely add some synthetic lubricant to the back of the pads before replacing. What model is your C7. You might consider changing to low dust ceramic pads unless you track a lot.
Good brakes squeak. I don't care if the brakes squeak unless they are screeching so loud they hurt my ears (I have had some race pads that are that loud).
Since I have no idea how you drive, I’ll give you a wild *** guess. Go use them, go use them hard. The car is 2.5 years old and only 6500 miles, I’ll guess you just don’t use them hard enough.

I wonder, have you bedded the pads? Getting some heat into the pads, calipers, and rotors could clear this up, and give you better braking performance.

Reason: Forgot the rotors...
