Default Windshield cowl drain

Had my windshield recently replaced on my 2016 Stingray. Dealer paperwork said they sublet the work. Went to wash it for the first since it was replaced and noticed (never heard it before), a dripping sound. I have bad hearing, but could hear it plainly. I found that it was water from the cowl drain (on the passenger side), dripping right down into the inside of the fender. Couldn't see well, but it appears that battery cables come thru that area and some water was hitting them. Took it to the dealer today and they investigated and said it's working as designed. To prove their point they took a bottle of water and poured it on the cowl of another C7 and sure enough it made the same noise. I thought there should be something attached to the cowl drain to route the water down under the car, but I can't find any pictures or illustrations. Is the dealer correct on this? Has anyone else had this issue? I just want to make sure that the dealer just didn't want to do the work.

If another randomly chosen car on the lot had the same noise and the water dropped in the same place and on the same wires I wouldn't be concerned about it. Water on an insulated wire isn't going to hurt the wire.

Thanks Bill, it's something I've never run into before. I've had a C4 & a C6, and neither one of those had this issue. I figured it had something to do with the Windshield replacement, but I guess it is what it is.
