If you want to keep your warranty intact using a Range AFM Disabler might be your only option. Otherwise you can have it software tuned out or the engine modified to remove the DOD components. The software option will most likely put you in peril for a warranty block if a dealer checks the software. Rebuilding the engine will definitely void your warranty.
Many of us here use the range module, it just plugs into the OBDII port. If you drive in manual mode all the time the AFM does not activate.
