Fuel Gauge Failure
'14 coupe - 60,000 miles - fuel gauge stopped working - Will resetting the codes work? Will Techron work?
Please understand that I'm not really mechanically inclined.

Yes, it is worthwhile trying a bottle of Techron with a full tank of Top Tier (like Chevron) gas and hoping that fixes it.
Otherwise, it is VERY expensive to have a Stealership fix if you do not have an extended warranty.

Try the Techron to make sure the sensor is cleaned of any pollutants. If that doesn't work clearing codes doesn't do a damned thing since they are telling you the sensor isn't reading correctly and clearing the code won't change the reading.
Replacing the sensor is a PIA job that can easily run close to $1000. I watched two dealership mechanics trying to get the cross car fuel line lined up and connected when the passenger side sensor failed on my 08Z. What a job. Sticking a pipe with two internal pipes that can move around up into a dark hole to connect with another pipe with two other movable internal pipes and getting a good seal was HARD and time consuming. The fact the tank was blocking their vision of what they were trying to connect was only part of the fun. I was glad my extended warranty covered the $900 charge.

Guess I will start to use Techron a couple of times each year.

I own a 2014 C7 which after filling up the gas tank had the fuel gauge drop to 0 as well as the digital gauge showing - - - instead of miles left to empty. There are no failure codes associated with the gauge showing 0. Apparently this is a common problem as I read on forums many other C7 owners have had the same issue. I also read that the repair by a dealer will be expensive, but as I love the vehicle I took it to my dealer (Village Chevrolet in Minneapolis, MN) and was told they wanted $175.00 to diagnose the problem first. As I asked for a ballpark price to repair, I was told they have done several fuel sensor replacements and the cost will be just a bit above $4,000.000 – yes that is a bit above four thousand Dollars! So how can the C7 design be so bad that most of the drive train and rear axle has to come off before they can start taking down the fuel tanks? My vehicle has 17,000 miles and has always been driven on COSCO premium fuel. I am ready to dump the car and purchase something else non-GM related.

Try using Techron Fuel System Cleaner for at least a couple tank-fulls before making a decision. Many C7 owners and prior generations have had success adding Techron to the Top-Tier fuel you are already using.

I've had the issue with giving the wrong fuel level. I figured it was because I run E85 and maybe the E content is messing with it.

It only takes one tank full of gas with too much sulfur to ruin the sending unit. Every once in a while the refinery supporting an area will screw up and deliver fuel with too much sulfur. Pay attention to your local news and you might hear about a sudden rash of fuel gauge failures.
