Default How do I remove clock spring from C7 Z06

My clock spring is cracked and makes a noise when turning the steering wheel, have wheel off, and now want to remove the clock spring Part Number 22942867.

Have the two front screws in plastic housing out and the bottom center screw.

So, now want to remove the plastic facia around the steering column so I can remove the clock spring.

Any help very much appreciated....any alignment or electrical issues to deal with?

Thanks,

NW

Why wouldn't you just let the dealer mechanic worry about the clock spring? The car should still have the B2B warranty unless you put over 36K miles on it.

Because I cracked it accidentally myself installing a different steering wheel and warranty will not cover it.

With the 3 screws out of the plastic facia it should come off. There are 2 clips that hold it together on the front (where it would meet steering wheel) carefully pry those loose and it should come right off. Once you get that off the clock spring has a 10mm nut that clamps it around the steering column, loosen that, unplug all the connector and it will come off. The area that is clamped by the 10mm nut and clamp has a couple small clips that hold it to the column, you may have to carefully pry them and the clock spring will slide off. If you need anymore information let me know.
