Oil pressure relief spring
The LS motors have a pressure relief spring right in the oil filter. I'm wondering if this replaces the one you would find in a normal big or small block oil pump, or if it works in conjunction?
If there are both, what happens in the various open-close scenarios?
If there's just one, what if I get a bad filter valve, couldn't I run that entire oil change without filtration then and never know it?
