Tried searching the forum but didn't find anything directly covering this. My car will be heading to a local shop within the next few weeks most likely to get (along with meth and dyno tune) 2" long tubes installed and a 18% crank pulley. All this to complement the AFE intake I already have installed.
Quoted guestimate install times were 8 hrs for the header and 8hrs for the crank pulley. Does that sound about right? I was under the impression the crank pulley was an easy install on the C7s and while easy doesn't always mean quick, thought it would be quicker. 16hrs for headers and pulley sound reasonable or do I need to reengage with them before going forward?

that is crazy for the headers, I even pulled my plugs & wires & chged them out, Plus at that time I never had pulled the fuse box lose from the c7 & had new LT headers on the car new x pipe new plugs & wires & all back together in 4 1/2 hrs plus took my time & 1 bathroom run & a drink run. But I did do this at my house & also had the car on a 4 post lift...
It will take a little more time on the 2 inch LT headers due to having to lift each side of the motor so have to unbolt one side at a time to lift block up a little by my understanding on that. Plus the crank pulley 8 hrs is also crazy.
These guys are hooked on 8 hrs for anything Robert

Thanks Robert. That was kinda my thought as well but not having done it myself, don't have anything to base it on. Alky controller/meth setup is listed at 6.5hrs and dyno tune time is 5.5hrs....
Plus 6.5 hrs is for someone that has never done it before. One good guy can do it easy that has done it a few times in less are about 4 hrs max... Robert

I did a Kooks LT and catless x-pipe install a couple weeks ago and it was a PITA, but with that said, don't be discouraged, might as well do NGK plugs while you're in there and don't forget plug wire protector boots. Also order OEM exhaust manifold gasket from the dealership, but don't give them your VIN. Just tell them a project car and nunya business. Lol..
Lastly, if you're installing ARH I hear you don't have to lift the motor. Good Luck!!
5 hours for the headers and 5 hours for the pulley, I’m being generous. A 1st timer would do it in under 12, a lift would help for sure. I could prob do both in an 8 hour day, but I would want 10 hours pay

I agree if I had blood from a hand are finger over the job. OP here what are they chging you per hour.....This could also make a diff per say in total cost. I sure wouldn't pay this shop 50.00 to 75.00 r more per hr for these job's... Robert

LG did a base dyno pull, installed lower pulley, LTH and a tune in 12 hrs.
But then again LG is a group of class act guys in the shop. Most of my aftermarket parts I have on my car comes from thee guys... One of the few that really are true race shop & does all their R&D on the parts before putting them out for sale..Robert

$100 per hour is their standard labor rate and they offer 10% military discount, so $90 per hour. I'd GLADLY take $50-$75 but no decent shop around here is close to that.

That was what I was getting at from my question no way I would pay that for those hrs for the job being done. I really would talk to them about why so long when everyone else can do it in s smaller time frame. Robert

Apparently they're quoting "book time" and won't budge so the search for a reasonable shop marches on. Thanks for the info/perspective gentlemen, greatly appreciated!
Thanks, I'm in the Springs. RMCR is who I'm hoping to get in with now. Haven't had a chance to get there during business hours but have emailed. I've heard they're slow but worth it...
