Elite E2 Catch Can
Hey guys so I searched the forum to try and possible locate some pics of this catch can installed on a Z51 car. Basically I have all the lines hooked up except for the one that needs to be installed into the intake assembly. I am trying to verify if this is really necessary. I have an aftermarket intake manifold and I really don't want to drill a hole into the intake tube. If any could chime in or drop some pics of their install or recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

FWIW, I installed one on my Z51 and removed it when I sold it and it's on my Grand Sport.
This is a PDF with many pics AND my reason for not using both exits and NOT drilling a hole in the air intake tube! You'll find interesting: http://netwelding.com/Catch_Can.pdf
Just use a plug on the left hole!

Don't recall the size plug. Had a number I used on my street rod. It's a pipe thread. Looks like a trip to Ace hardware!
My 2014 Z51 had two barbs on the air intake tube. If you have only one than a splice would be needed.
Of interest, the Grand Sport only has one line and my aFe intake had two barbs. aFe sent me a plug! It is an odd size the Elite is not- I'd guess it is a 3/8 pipe plug.
PS: decide not to bother with the "Clean Side Separator" on the Grand Sport since it has lines going to the valve covers.

If you keeping the car over ~50,000 miles it may be worth it for even the “mostly cosmetic” reasons Tadge says the coking will affect. It no doubt is a bit more of an issue than cosmetic, but if you seldom get near redline you will probably never notice any difference even with -50,000 miles.
There is the warranty issue risk.
Just my opinion.

Chazzmania;
No! Mr. Tadge Juechter discusses this topic and he suggested it was not necessary for the dry sump configuration, since it was already addressed, in the oil return lines?.
Please note: he also did not think it was necessary for the wet-sump stingray either?
Conversely, the 2016 Camaro SS wet-sump got one?
Yes, I have installed an Elite catch can for my wet-sump stingray. "DI=direct injection". Requirement?
Many thanks,
Ray

You definitely want all of the ports hooked up!
Elite on the z51 is using the two outer ports as return ports and the center port as the feed to the can from the valley cover. You want one of the side ports going to the intake manifold and one of the side ports going to the intake before the throttle body. This will ensure that you are always drawing a vacuum on the crankcase both in cruise conditions and at WOT. If you don't hook the return port up to the intake you will not be pulling much of a vacuum at all on the valley cover breather at WOT as the intake manifold will reach near atmospheric pressure.

If Tracking that might be useful. However I don't Track and my WOT time, although at times frequent, are short duration. I did not bother drilling a hole in the air tube before the Throttle Body. Was easily reversed when I sold the car and I installed my Elite Can in on my Grand Sport the same way. I just plugged the second exit on the "Can."
