I have one that occasionally hesitates when starting. What I mean, sometimes when I go to start the car, but remote start or inside the car, the motor starts to crank and wants to turn over then stops and tries restarting again. This happens 2-3 times and then the engine fires and all is good.
Anyone heard or experienced this before? It'd be the equivalent of turning the key to start a normal car and right before it fires you quickly turn it off and try again. I've tried getting videos but every time I do it doesn't happen.

I know on my 2014 base it sometimes requires 1-1.5 seconds of cranking before it will fire. These engines have a high pressure fuel pump (>2000 psi I hear) and takes a few revolutions of the motor before it builds enough pressure. There's also a low pressure fuel pump that delivers fuel to the HPFP from the tank, and I think that one maintains some pressure even when the car is off.
It shouldn't happen often, but there are limits on how long it will crank and I've seen it once where (I guess) the high pressure pump couldn't bring pressure up in time so it took two attempts.
If it's anything more than a very rare occasion, however, I'd suspect your pump is leaking, possible internally.
May I suggest you check your engine oil level to ensure it does not read OVER full?
