Default Noob questions about exhausts

I’m new to the corvette world and new to modding in general. I’ve heard clips of the corsa exhaust and it sounds great! I’ve seen before and after dyno clips and the added horse power looks awesome. Can someone help me understand the full benefits of the different components of the exhaust? What’s the difference between axle/cat backs? What difference/benefit is there in installing just the x-pipe or just the tips? What do each component of the exhaust add to the equation?Lastly can someone explain what the difference is between sport and extreme besides sound? If there’s anything else I should know that I’m asking about please fill me in!

Thanks!

An axle back is the rear muffler section with pipes that go over the axle and connect to the back of the Xpipe. A cat back would include the Xpipe and the axle back.

The difference between the Corsa Sport and the Corsa Extremes is volume really. The Sports are about the same volume as a factory NPP exhaust but have a different tone. The extremes are obnoxiously louder.

The Corsa exhaust systems eliminate the NPP functionality. So you cannot make the car louder or quieter on command with the drive mode dial. Both the Sport and Extreme are the same in that regard.

Doing the Xpipe will give you more sound and a few more HP. Doing the “tips” is not really possible. You would have to be referring to the whole axle back at that point. The difference is primarily sound.

If you are interested in a set of Corsa Sports, I have a set available.

Got to be careful here. Know what sound you are wanting. Some just sound like a bad muffler that has a hole in it. Don't want people laughing at you when you drive by.
