In the Information center, Under Settings, Display, Lighting, I only have 2 options: Calibrate Touchscreen and Shut off Display. The Mode option is missing where I can turn off the Auto lights or keep them on Day or Night. Anyone else have this missing? Having discussions with the Dealer as this doing it's own thing when I go from sun to shade is driving me batty.

The information you are looking for is in the owner’s manual under lighting (daytime running lamps), It is on page 142 in the 2016 manual which I am sure applies to all C7models. You can download the manual online. I hope that helps answer your question.

My problem is, I can be driving down the road and go under a cloud and the whole panel will darken and then after I get out of that cloud, it will go to full bright and there is no adjustment to lower the intensity. I* can be driving down the ride with it switching from full bright to dim, back and forth. When they darken, I can adjust the intensity but it does not go up a whole lot. I have had this happen trying to back into a driveway and when it hit the shadow, the back up camera lines were so dark, I could barely see them. I have tried turning off the Auto on the wiper but will try it again. I know you have to do it every time you start and stop the car.
Thanks for the help.

Make sure the Instrument Panel control **** is turned to full bright (just short of turning on the interior lights). If that doesn't help I am not sure playing with the headlight switch will help. There is a certain amount of hysteresis built into the control algorithm to avoid having the lights and display change brightness with every shadow encountered (imagine what the flickering would be like if it triggered with each individual sign, utility pole or tree). By having the brightness control set to full bright that should give you sufficient lighting of the IP when the system detects darkness and dims the display.

Don't know what year car you have but the page reference given above won't work in a 2015 OM since they numbered the pages differently in the earlier OMs. I found the referenced section in my 2015 manual on pages 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4.

I agree with what Bill said. Turn the brightness full bright. I just drove my car and when I started it in the dark garage the headlights came on and the display was dim, when I backed out the headlights went out and the display went bright. It was an overcast day with no sun. I have never seen my dash shift from bright to dim while driving the car during daylight hours.

I have it set to full bright. I was traveling down the 5, same direction, same conditions and all the sudden the lights dimmed and stayed that way for 20 minutes. I have also been driving along and the dash and instrument panel went black. I even pulled over and took a photo so the dealer could see. I had the HUD so I knew my speed and knew I had plenty of gas for going out of town. About 5 minutes later, it did it again. Has not happened again.

My main question is if people with the 2017 LT2 have the 3rd option under Setting for the Mode? I just want to switch off the Auto and have it stop changing on its own!

Just checked my 2017 2LT for you and I only have the two options you mention. By the way, I am not batty......yet.

I have a 2017 Z51 2LT I don't seem to have the problem you have. I have gone through long tunnels without it dimming. I don't know the length of time programmed into the twilight sensor or weather it can be adjusted, maybe your problem lies there. My friend has a 2015 Z51 and when we travel together on cloudy days his headlights will come on long before mine do.

That's a good question. I wonder if there is an adjustment for the twilight sensor or I'm just going to have to live with the factory set-up. Mine is 2017 LT2 Stingray and I have a friend who just got the same car, in red instead of white. He also does not have the "mode" adjustment on his touch screen. Waiting to see if his changes as often as mine does or is as sensitive.

Thanks for the info.
