Sweet setup! I do have a question though. With the GS being a dry sump motor, why does your drivers side valve cover have the oil fill lid? Do the dry sump motors have that?(Maybe I have missed it)... I thought we fill through the dry sump tank.

Not sure if you realize that the LT1's bottom end is not built to handle that level of boost.

Explains why the LT4 motor has Forged Pistons, Titanium Intake valves etc.

It can handle around 650-700rwhp. Weak point being the pistons. Cunningham Motorsports has a simple drop in poston-rod replacement set that you can swap in and handle over 1000rwhp.

Also an LT1 will make more power at the same boost level than the LT4.

with that being said, I personally would rather start with the forged LT4 from the get go.

Is there a crank difference between the Lt1 and Lt4?

Good question: I have no Idea. That's how it was.. But my motor is dry sump and I fill it through the dry sump.

I upgrade to a Z06 hood. But the stock hood requires you to take the insulation out if you are running a 2017 lid. 2015 lid which is flat you shouldn't have a issue.

Because they all use the same valve covers. On the dry sump cars the cap is just to cover the hole.
It cannot be removed without removing the clip installed on the back. It will only moves like 1/2 a turn but doesn't get loose.

Are you referring to part numbers or material?

I'm building a forged motor here shortly...I'm familiar with each motors capabilities...But when your tune is spot on my worries are minimum.
