Service Battery Charging System
current issue, car will sit in storage for maybe a week or two tops. Car starts without issue, drive maybe 3-4 miles and I get a notification the that the battery charging system is active, from there, maybe 30-40 seconds, I now receive a notification that the Battery charging system requires service. Then all hell breaks loose. Windshield wipers turn on, high berms turn on. DIC is flashing every service message possible. Then DIC goes dark, stereo display goes dark, power steering loss, then car dies.
jump start it, get in and go, car dies less than a half mile from previous location.
Finally got her home and called Chevy roadside assistance. Towed to dealer, they charged the battery and said I was good to go.
Drove home without issue from dealer. Next day, same issue, except I was close enough to a different Chevy dealer, pulled into service and waited for their diagnosis, battery replacement. Done, drive home from dealer with new battery, no issue.
drive the car later that evening, died again, new battery was not the fix. Currently back at dealer.
any thoughts out there, anyone experience the same? Has to me either alternator or PCM.

The wire is part of a 3 wire input to a hall effect sensor module (K18). The BCM provides +5V and ground to the module and the module monitors current direction into or out of the battery by using the wire connected directly to the battery ground cable. The module then sends a pulse width modulated signal back to the BCM telling it which way current is flowing and how much current is flowing (like the old ammeters that were on Corvette dash boards instead of voltmeters up until the mid to late 70s) If that circuit fails or that wire is broken the system disables regulated voltage control. The module can be damaged by over charging the battery with a battery charger or by jump starting the car.
